What are Passenger Side Pedals?
Passenger side pedals (PSP) or Dual Pedals are additional controls installed on the left side of driving instruction vehicles that allow the instructor to gain control of the vehicle in an emergency situation when training learner drivers. Our pedals can be fitted into most vehicles and can be easily flipped up for regular vehicle use.

HOW TO BOOK
Please call Safety Driver Pedals on 08 8166 5896 to book. You will be asked for your MDI licence details and you will be required to present your MDI licence card when dropping off your vehicle.
If you are including your PSPs in the purchase of the vehicle, you will need to present your MDI licence to the salesperson who must send us a photo of the card.
The dealer will need to contact us to book it in and provide us with a purchase order. The vehicle would need to be delivered to us the day before the booking and will be available to collect the next day. The invoice will need to be paid for before collection of the vehicle.

No, we are approved to issues “Advice of Installation” certificates.

Yes, inform your service centre there is a PSP installation and if possible, to not remove anything to do with it. If they do have to move or remove parts of the PSP, then bring it back to us to inspect.

No, you must be a qualified and licensed MDI. If you are from a Community Group, you may be able to get exemption from DIT.

We have installed PSPs into full electric vehicles, but please check with us before purchasing to see if we have done the vehicle before or if we need to inspect it to see suitability.

To apply for an MDI licence, head to the SA.GOV.AU website to apply.
